J. Cole's first studio album is definitely one I like. And after this randomly popped on shuffle last night it reminded me how good even a random song off Cole World: The Sideline Story, can be. Basically "Lights Please" a song about sex, haha. But I think the chorus is damn fantastic, the beat is nice, Cole raps well, and even the verses convey more than just the act of making love.

I'm going to start this blog off with a realization. I hurt myself. With my thoughts, with my curiosity, with my incessant need to know things I shouldn't. I don't know why I do it to myself, giggity, but it happens. Knowing things I shouldn't, thinking things that aren't true. I hate myself for it, but the good coming out of this? I'm starting to numb myself, even not caring when it happens. I know a lot of things that I wish I didn't, but they're there and I have to deal with it. I love giving advice, but it's times like these I have to numb myself , which hopefully I'm doing. I need to move on cause what I thought was there, what I was told was there, isn't anymore. I could hold out hope, but what's the point, nothing works out in the end.

NOW onto the good stuff. Last Sunday till this Sunday was fantastic. Started off with a day of watching football and casting. Me and my best friends hung out all week. From watching wrestling and It's Always Sunny/Futurama, to playing (and beating) Uncharted 2, LA Noire AND Batman Arkham City and watching basketball. The week was fantastic. We also got a BUNCH more of our stuff moved to the new house, my room is prtty much all moved in, and got paid for it! Got The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior, Dead Space, Super Smash Bros Melee and Super Mario Sunshine for $35! Ending this fantastic week of awesome, again another day of football and casting started. Save for this time it went for 14 hours and everyone stopped in! From Aria and Maggie for a bit, to having a hilarious call with Haru, Mike and Eddie! It felt good and topped one of the most fantastic weeks I've had in the past 4 months. Sports, TV, friends, family, and video games. What more could a guy ask for :D

I've been listening to nothing but my CDs in my car as of late, but I finally decided to charge my PSP and drive with it on yesterday. These two songs that popped on, I have my music on shuffle, reminded me that I really started to expand my musical tastes a little more this year. Those were yesterday's songs. Today's song of the day is the theme from Batman: Arkham City. Seeing as late last night/early this morning I beat the story-line in one sitting with my two friends, I see no reason why this isn't today's song of the day. Since Saturday I've totally been immersing myself in video games. So sorry for the lack of blog posts. Two in particular. These two are Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, which I hath conquered, and the game I'm currently going through LA Noire. Uncharted 2 is an amazing game and if you made me choose between it and Uncharted 3, I honestly couldn't. One of the big reasons for both of the games (and LA Noire) is their soundtracks. LA Noire has the early/mid 1900s jazz, big band, etc, while the Uncharted games have grandiose action filled scores that blow you away.

Mistakes and Moving

Earlier today I, after my new routine of getting up early and taking a two hour nap just before noon, I wrote a horrible blog post and possibly destroyed one of the best friendships I've ever had the pleasure of having. All cause of my moronicy. I've explained my horrible week, as an excuse, and now I just have to hope they forgive me. Hopefully time is on my side and it'll help heal the things I've done and said. I'd say I'll have accepted it if they didn't, but I'd probably spiral even more if they didn't. If they're reading it, I'm sure they know who they are...

I really only did one other thing today and it was a big thing. I started moving stuff from my room to my new room at our new house. I've moved all my dvds, video games and game systems. I've also moved my desk, tv, and bed over here as well. A ton of stuff to be honest. I think this is a huge step for me as I've been putting off moving my stuff cause I'm scared of everything changing in my life. So moving all this stuff is kind-of therapeutic for me.

I didn't do much else once everything got moved. We ordered Pizza Hut, I got a P'Zone and bread-sticks and my mom got Honey BBQ Wings. I watched a sub-par WWE Smackdown. Decent main event though between Big Show and Daniel Bryan with AJ Lee in a No DQ match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Watched the Mavs best the Bucks 102-79..or 76. I forget. Either way we stomped them. I then played Uncharted 2 (got to the 5th chapter) while watching the Heat get destroyed by the Nuggets and losing their third game in a row. I LOVE my new little HD set-up by the way, fantasticness.

I ended my night by popping in WWE 12 and watching How I Met Your Mother. Which I'm currently still watching while writing this. I'm close to catching up with new episodes AND finally finished the Villain Story in WWE 12. Huzzah!

Today was an awful day though, with some highlights sprinkled in. I hope and pray for forgiveness and also that I settle in our new house fine. I'm scared, feel stupid, tired, and alone. But I do wish the best for everyone who reads this. Whenever they read this. You don't wanna end up like me. You all do matter, even if you can't see it in yourself right now.

Everybody Lies

Everybody lies. I love that line. For me made famous by Hugh Laurie aka Greg House on what may be my favorite TV show of all time. Now for all intensive purposes he means it in a medical sense, but comeon, this is House, he means everyone.

That's translated to my life in past six-ish months. Oh look, yet another emo, sadness, bullshit post. People said they'd be there for me, but aren't. Promises broken as well as me. They always say always there, but in the end it's always aloneness (Hell yeah I can use not real words). People say they hate seeing me sad or upset. Yet I've been a wreck the past two weeks and nothing. That if I couldn't go to them with my problems, they'd feel bad cause they wanna help. Yet nothing. They said they'd always be there, this is the kicker. But you guessed it, yet again, nothing.

Now I know people have problems of their own, and this may seem like I'm saying "Screw their problems, mine are more important," but I'm not. What I'm saying is that it's impossible to always be there for someone. Something comes up, you're sick, you have stuff going on in your life. I get it, I FUCKING get it, after this past year. But, don't lie to me and tell me that you'll always be there. No one can be. There's always gonna be that time (or in my case "times," haha) when people can't be around and you're left completely alone.

In the end all I'm saying is if you promise it to me and don't come through, tell me. Tell me we can't go to the movies when you're busy, don't leave me in the dark. Tell me if you don't wanna talk to me anymore or hang out anymore, don't leave me with my thoughts. Just be honest. Everybody lies sure, but everyone also..well hell I don't know where I was going with that. I guess the moral of this is, though I've lost hope in people you don't have to. To start, just stop lying.

Today was an on and off day for me. I went to bed at like 2-3 which was actually pretty early for me. I only got about three hours, but they were restful hours for some reason. So from six to eleven AM I was up...doing absolutely nothing. Watching more How I Met Your Mother, getting to season 5 already, and even getting some more Mario Kart 7 action in. If it wasn't for my goddamn thoughts it'd have been pretty much a perfect morning. Anywho at eleven I decided to nap, to clear my head. I've always loved naps and got a nice two hour one in.

I woke up at one and checked my ole fantasy basketball team one more time. Then decided to make a run to Entertainmart to (again) clear my head. In case you don't know, Entertainmart is a magical land of new and used movies, TV shows, CDs, and video games. The prices are usually fantastic and I always find a good deal whenever I head out there. I love this store. Today was no different as I grabbed LA Noire and Uncharted 1 and 2 for my PS3 for $55. Which I feel is a huge deal. Especially since Uncharted 2, that I got for $15, had the slip with an unused code for all the DLC.

At this point I'm sure you're blah blah blahing. When I got home I was all giddy so I took about an hour and installed all the games so I can be ready to go whenever I start them up. I'm hooked on How I Met Your Mother and watched it up until NBC Comedy Night, at least my shows of it started back up again. Could never get into 30 Rock but if I do I'm going to start from the beginning. My comedy night now starts with Parks and Recreation, leading into my favorite comedy The Office. Ending with a new show that bumped that God-awful Whitney out of it's time slot, Up All Night. A solid night of comedy leading into me writing this.

After installing my games I packed up all my DVDs and video games into boxes. The first thing I've really packed for the move. I'm freaking out hard. I haven't been able to talk to anyone about this so these daily blogs I've been doing have helped. I hate my mind and thoughts right now, so if you've been trudging through and reading these, or talked to me at all thank you. This has been a terrible week for me and knowing that people still wanna talk to me or read this is really uplifting.

LeBron's Choking Epidemic Flares Up!

Today was truly a me day. Or an alone day, whichever you prefer. Got up at 7:30 and was the new house till 1:30 setting up the DSL and Direct TV. While the guy was setting up all our TVs I got a lot of How I Met Your Mother watching in and some ole Mario Kart 7. I'm starting to get into How I Met Your Mother, it's not the best comedy I've ever seen. But it does have heart and a lot of references and one liners that have made me chuckle and laugh so far. Had a nice helping of Chef Boyardee and crashed haha at about 3 this afternoon. Got a nice three hour nap, which is probably why I'm up now.

I hate the fact we're moving and when I got up we moved more stuff over to the new house. Mostly food. I set up some DVR stuff and came back home. I know this post is thrilling stuff. Came home plopped in my room and watched the Mavericks/Celtics game until 8 when one of the best comedies of the last three years and the comedy that follows it came on. Modern Family is always hilarious and in it's second year Happy Endings has really surprised me. I love both these comedies and since Wednesday nights are chalk full off nothing on TV.

Ordered the ole Pizza Hut while all this sports and comedies were going on. Large Meat Lovers with bread sticks on the side. A classic. It filled me up, I love Pizza Hut. And I love being fat cause I can pig out on it. Dirk then wowed me to end the Celtics game by making a rough two and foul shot leading the Mavs to their third win in a row. I then proceeded to start up more How I Met Your Mother while the Heat/Clippers game was on in the background. I'm telling you I started watching the series not a week ago and I'm already more than halfway through season 4. Once the 4th quarter in the game hit I had to watch LeBron have another melt down and lead his team to yet another loss in overtime. Not taking anything away from the Clippers who kept up with the Heat all game and kept it competitive. But still, LeBron's the best at choking when it matters most. Even better than most porn stars.

Now it's another late night. I'm not tired. I'm alone. Feeling blue, ignored and watching more How I Met Your Mother. I'm writing this boring long post, cause...well I don't know. But when I start to write posts like this stuff just comes to me. I've never been good at conclusions when writing papers (or writing anything) though, so yeah, umm, that's it...uhhh...bye.

Song of the Day #53!

I don't think I've ever doubled up on a song of the day, but today's the first if I haven't. Was on the way home from a meeting at school. It didn't go to well, but everyone was kind and we talked a lot of stuff out. I wasn't feeling too great on the ride home. Then, for some reason I can't explain, Hot Chelle Rae and "Tonight Tonight" came on the ole radio. By now you should know Imma sucker for pop songs and that this is one of my favorites from 2011. The song hit and I just started smiling. After the bad day before and day leading up, I was just plain happy driving home.

Three memories, fantastic memories (with coincidentally the same person), of listening to this song popped into my head. Now I'm sure these will never happen again, and the way things look I don't want them to. Memories, good or bad, are always gonna be there. Sure you can long for them, try to recreate them, or try to erase them. But it won't happen. With the good ones though, even if they happened with someone who you think is gone from your life, is in the process of removing themselves from your life, or really are gone, keep them. Cause I've learned, good memories are hard to come by.

So I got a lot of stuff going on in my life. Is how I would start out this blog if I were a 14 year old girl and Timmy just dumped me for slutty Miranda. I'm not ashamed to say, and I've said it plenty, that I'm a wreck right now. I'm not going to spiel off the list but today and probably tomorrow will be two of the hardest days in a long while. I don't have the person I used to vent to anymore, and as much as I hate it I'm trying not to rely on them. So I'm turning to what blogs are partly made for. Blogging about myself.

I have a meeting at my college after a horrible two semesters and we're really starting to move today and tomorrow (TV, phone and internet are being turned on). I'm worried, scared, and all the other adjectives you can think of. I've been in this house for the last..about five years. I thought I'd be here till I finally moved out and all the best memories I have are here. Watching wrestling, movies, and TV with my dad. Getting my mom into Arrested Development first the first time. Having a huge back yard with a trampoline. I love trampolines, don't judge me. Starting my DVD collection. Having my first cast on JTV. Etc, etc. I'm going to miss this place, and I hate that we have to move. I'm starting my 7th (I think haha) semester in college too, hopefully. And that's it, the hopefully. This year hasn't been the best year, school-wise, and I was turning it around this past semester when my dad passed and then I completely tanked.

So this is the year if there ever was one. I guess. The last year of the world and I'm trying to turn mine around haha. Myself confidence is shot that I even have to blog about stuff like this now cause I can't talk about it. I'm fearful of everything going on right now. But if you're reading this thanks, and maybe you'll gain a little insight to me.

This years first inductee is one of the superstars that I've always loved. Great matches with everyone he was paired with, great promos, great sense for the business, and a great sense of humor to boot. Not to mention he has one of the best WWE themes ever. These past four months have taught me a few things. They've taught me that nothing good can come out of your life. They've taught me that after a bad part in your life, it just keeps piling on. They've taught me that even after your best and happiest days you end up alone. They've taught me that people, despite their best intentions, will always let you down.

Don't get me wrong I've had plenty of good times since September. Like when I went through all those Halloween movies in October. Playing games with all my friends online. Casting for everyone who came to any of my casts. Watching great television shows and movies. But these past two weeks since Christmas reminded me why this all still sucks.

I'm new to all this showing emotions and letting life get me down. Because frankly I had a pretty easy go of things till last year. 2011 was a year full of shit. My aunt died. I screwed up really big with people. Can't get over things. I'm holding pointless (and just plain bad) thoughts in my head that will never come to fruition. My dad died. And all in all I, you guessed it, ended up alone. Yeah yeah I know, boo-freakin-hoo.

If you've stuck with me and read all this, thank you. Also I wanna thank the people who have been there for me. Like I said before, just hanging out with me on Skype playing Minecraft or while I cast. Getting me gifts on Steam and even sending me t-shirts and stuff, etc. Seriously, there's not enough praise I can give you. I love you for it.

I wish I could end this nonsense of a post saying that things will get better. But I'm not, and I'm not gonna hold my breath. I've been holding on to all this for a week now, waiting for the chance to vent that never came. Maybe it's cause I got my hopes up, maybe it's my own delusion, maybe they're just busy with their own shit or maybe it's cause they just don't care anymore. Don't know, don't really ever wanna know.

But I'm scared. With moving to a new house. Starting up a new semester in school. Not being in the right mind mentally. Missing people I can't be with and yearning to be with others that I can't be with either. I'm just plain scared. I know people are gonna talk. People are going to assume it about this that and the other. And it probably is.

Gossip, analyze me, call me emo, ostracize me, whatever. I don't care. I just had to get all this off my chest. I don't even know yet if it's helped. Despite all this though there's still that hope buried down somewhere in me I'm sure. Just right now, it's hard to even attempt to try and dig it up.

Everyone hates "Top" lists people make at the beginning and end of the year. BUT OH WELL! YOU'RE GETTING THEM AND YOU'RE GONNA LIKE 'EM! Haha. Random outbursts are fun. Now this list is going to have two categories. One for strictly 2011 games and another for non-2011 games. Here's most all of the games I've gone through and beaten or liked enough to make this list. If you take to time to read through this, I'll thank you in advance. Without further adieu, here we go!

Non-2011 Games

4. Bit.Trip Runner (2010)

My good friend Eddie, aka EddieRuckus, gifted me this game on Steam this year. Now once you get into this you're immediately immersed by the music and environment. The game play is simple, yet rage inducing. The music is simple, yet layered and amazing. The visuals are simple, yet a beauty to look at. Once you get into it, you'll play until you win, despite all the anger. This game is fantastic to me.

3. Tales of the Abyss (2006)

Now people say Final Fantasy is the best RPG game on the market. Hard to argue that, but the "Tales Of" series gives it a run for it's money. I never played FF growing up and my first RPG was actually Tales of Symphonia (one of my favorite games of all time). Tales of the Abyss expands upon the battle system set in ToS, the story is a bit more grandiose, and the art is updated for the PS2. The characters for me are solid enough, but some of the writing and puzzles are lacking. But this game is a wonder to play through and I never felt bored. I highly recommend this game to RPG fans.

2. Super Meat Boy (2010)

Ever since I saw Jill, aka Jillers86 (and to a certain point MANvsGAME), play this I knew I wanted to play it. So when I got Steam, Super Meat Boy and Left 4 Dead 2 were my first games for it. In SMB we follow Meat Boy, who has to navigate levels filled with saws and peril to save his girlfriend Bandage Girl from the evil Doctor Fetus. The levels are simple enough..at first, trust me I've played this for 87 hours. The side scrolling aspect, the multiple deaths you can garner per level/world, unlockable characters, the platforming, and the general rage inducingness pulled me in. I've 100%'d this game and it was well worth it.

1. Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009)

Now the best non-2011 game for me this year would've been Super Meat Boy. I got so into that game as you can tell by what I wrote above. But then I got gifted this. I've seen the intro and some game play plenty of times and always wanted to get into it. Got it started playing it and got engulfed immediately. The story is great, the characters (as a comic book/super hero fan) are awesome, the controls, fighting, and upgrades are easy to pick up, and even after the main story you've got a ton of upgrades and trophies to unlock. Love this game, highly recommend.

8. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Now I just got my PS3 for Christmas and I've already played a bit of Uncharted 3. Blah blah I haven't played 1 or 2. Doesn't matter. I'll get to them. The game play so far is a great mix of Drake parkouring through levels, a fps, hand to hand combat fighting. Also the story so far is pretty good. Like National Treasure....if it were a good movie. I won't get into this much as I haven't even finished it, but so far I love it

7. Mario Kart 7

Oh look Mario Kart 7..is number 7. Wonder if I planned this out? If you've been to any of my casts earlier in the year and asked me if I was gonna get a 3DS I would've gone on a rant about how the 3DS is too expensive, no games, weird technology, etc. BUT, now that I've owned one for about 2 weeks now I love it. And this was the first game I bought for it. I'm a Mario Kart nut. From the SNES version to the N64 one, all the way to the Wii version, I love 'em all. While this takes a bit of getting used to it's still the Mario Kart I love. Fun course from all the era's, same game style and even new items. What more can I say, it's Mario Kart.

6. Madden 12

Football! Football! Football! FOOTBALL! NFL football is easily my favorite team sport and Madden is the go to franchise to play the sport...and actually it's the only official one haha. Again I've only had my PS3 since Christmas so I haven't gotten too far in playing this. But I have started a franchise mode, draft, and started up a season. I haven't played extensively since my PS2 days, but so far from the stadium/player design down to the controls this game is well produced and well made. I can't wait to dive into a bit of online and get to my first off-season in franchise mode.

5. WWE 12

Oh man WWE. I wish I could say I'm one of the lifelong fans that grew up with the WWE/F in the 90s and watched the attitude era when it was in full swing. But alas I didn't. I got into the WWE after the Royal Rumble leading up to Wrestlemania 20. I've been hooked ever since. I've also played all the Smackdown vs Raw games, some more extensively than others, and already I can tell this is a step-up. The roster is great. The main game mode, imo, is pretty good as well. The matches, while they can be repetitive, are done very well and are very fluid. The "create a anything" (you can really create almost anything) is expansive, creative and virtually limitless. The online is spotty too, but a blast if you stick with it. As a WWE fan, as a video game fan, I love this game.

4. Minecraft

*Opens Minecraft for the first time. Creates a world. Get's plopped in the ocean. Swims to land. Starts punching trees to make shelter.* I don't know about you, but I watched A TON of Minecraft before I actually started playing it myself. I wish I could tell you I'm an expert player. A master of pixel art, of buildcraft/industrialcraft, or even just creating cool structure's. But I'm not. I've played a ton of Minecraft. I build my house. I make my mine. I pick my way do to bedrock and I keep mining. Sometimes I hit that ole abandoned mine shaft, sometimes I hit diamond, sometimes I find a cave or ravine and get killed by a Creeper or Cave Spider. That's how I play Minecraft. It's addicting, it's fun, it's blocks. I love it.

3. Super Mario 3D Land

I've owned this game for less than two weeks and it's number three on this list. Now I've grown up with Mario. Played it since my NES, into SNES, N64, etc. Now in this game Mario has to race through Mushroom Kingdom to save Princess Peach from Bowser. Crazy premise, I know. For me, at first, the aspect is a little funky, but as I played on it got better for me. Also the levels are amazing, even though it's in the old school style, it's looks updated and new. The music is new and at times they remixed old tracks and I flipped out. The game play is easy for the most part. But when you get to the second part of the game it can become oddly difficult and you can sink 20 lives into a level easily. This game is easily the best 3DS game so far and easily one of the top games (for me) this year.

2. The Binding of Isaac

This best indy game I've played this year. I can say that since it's not 2010 and this doesn't have to contend with Bit.Trip Runner or Super Meat Boy. Don't get me wrong, this is a dark, evil, bloody, gory game. But it's addictive, easy to play (I say that after cranking 40 hours into it), and there is a metric shit ton of things to collect, do and unlock. You're Isaac, a fun love kid growing up with his mother. His mother starts watching Christian broadcasting and becomes a fanatic. Thinking God wants her to kill him, Isaac must escape into a dark world of the basement, caves and finally the womb, all filled with monsters looking to destroy Isaac. The different tears, power-ups and ways to make Issac stronger never ends. This game is highly re-playable, highly addictive, and I love this game SO much.

1. Pokemon Black and White Version

Okay. You all know me if you're reading this, so you damn well know that these are my games of the year. I've played Black Version on cast and beat White Version in about a week and a half after release day. I've been playing Pokemon since I was 8 and my mom and dad got me Red Version and a Red Gameboy Pocket for my birthday. The games have gradually gotten better over the years. With Red/Blue/Yellow kicking off the series in what could be the best games in the series. Gold/Silver/Crystal had time, day/night, new Pokemon. Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald brought even more Pokemon, movement in the sprites, and even more game play. I'm not huge fan of Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, but it brought the era of the Pokemon on two screens, immersive worlds, downloadable content and yet again, more Pokemon. Finally a new chapter was written. It brought a huge world overhaul, the cities and parts of the world are huge. The Pokemon are new (albeit most are bleh) and the storyline is actually a storyline in this game. Seasons are introduced and even the new triple battle system is fun to play with. There is so much they added to the Pokemon world that was already huge. I know people don't like this, but I love it, and yes a Pokemon game is MY number one game of 2011.

I was going to post this on Monday night when Chris Jericho made his return to the WWE Raw after a one year absence from the company to take a break and tour with his band Fozzy. Y2J is definitely one of the best wrestlers of all time. In-ring and on the mic he's simply amazing and his match (and whole feud) with Shawn Michaels leading into Wrestlemania 19 may be the best build up to my favorite of all time. Been watching quite a bit of Futrama lately, forgot how epic the show is, and I just watched the season 4 episode "Anthology of Interest II." This episode is broken into three "What If" stories as Professor Farnsworth breaks out the What If Machine for the second time. Bender asks what it would be like if he were human. In the end it turns out he has no self control and as he parties to death and this is his go to song. Now I can't get it out of my head haha.

Been on my mind ever since I woke up today. I ended up picking up Frank Sinatra's version cause it sounds so damn good. His voice is so smooth, the words give hope to everyone, and most of all it's a song that always gives me chills. Not many songs do that to me, let alone holiday ones. O Holy Night is really one of my favorite traditional Christmas songs. Too bad this week the comedy songs have taken over my head haha. This is no different. A song we've all heard thirty times, but for me it never gets old. None of the Cartman-ized have disappointed me and this is no different. Cartman and any religious stuff mix well. Instead of being about the holiday season he makes it about the commercial aspects and himself. It's fantastic.

I'm putting two songs since one of these was supposed to be yesterdays song anyway. It's no stranger that I love The Lonely Island and this is as Christmas as they get. The lyrics still hold up to this day, they're hilarious, and even both (yes BOTH) Samberg and Timberlake sing quite well. The video is hilarious to boot. The ultimate raunchy Christmas song. I love it.

As I was showering today I went though what I've called "the greatest Christmas album ever." Aqua Teen Hunger Force, now Aqua Unit Patrol Squad is one of those shows I adore. The stupidity, fantasy and violent comedy lines are amazing to me. This album gets Christmas completely wrong. And I ADORE it. The music is catchy as fuck and it never fails to make me lol during almost every song. In this song Meatwad and Master Shake sing "Jingle Bells" and for some reason it's just goddamn ridiculous.

I first discovered Garfunkel and Oates after watching Scrubs. I didn't pay too much back in 2009 when Kate Micucci was on there, but in 2011 they released an album (All Over Your Face) which had a lot of hit and miss songs on it. My curiosity was peaked again when earlier this year I re-went through the Scrubs series and actually looked at some of their non-album songs/skits. This Christmas gem popped out at me. The music is nice (and Christmas-y) as with most of their songs, but the lyrics and actors they got to be in the video made this. The lyrics are so true and see stars you recognize like Samm Levine, Taran Killam, Colbe Smulders, and Kunal Nayyar agreeing with them and making those faces is hilarious to me.

Well I was gonna start this yesterday, but I never got to a Christmas song haha. AND what better way to start off the week than with hip-hop. Last year Kanye West released an exclusive track every Friday leading up till his release of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and even a few tracks afterward. This is one of the songs he released a week before Christmas. A HOST of great rappers, solid lyrics and rapping by everyone, the chorus is sung quite well, the long song never drags for me and the beat is just awesome to me as well.

Who would've thought Christina Perri would be playing in a Pawn Shop at 11 AM. I heard "Jar of Hearts" and it's a decent song and when a friend sung it for her cast it was fucking amazing. But I still couldn't really get into her. Now "A Thousand Years" has been floating around (heard it for the first time on the trip to Missouri). Sung well, the lyrics are good enough, and the piano and music itself is nice. Enjoy this premature song of the day post.

THREE SONGS?! This is unheard of. But it's true. Drove a bit today and an older song that's been stuck in my head popped on. As well as a new pop song and an old reliable rock song. Throw them all into my head and you have today's post. Kanye West and even Bruno Mars are no stranger to this blog. I've always said that 808s as a whole was an average attempt at Kanye doing something new. This song had me in tears missing my dad last night. No lie. A cover of this was done by Kerris Dorsey (a 13-year old actress) in the amazing movie Moneyball. This has been stuck in my head since I listened to B.o.B's new mixtape E.P.I.C. [Every Play Is Crucial]. There's a lot of mixed opinions on B.o.B and hid first album (The Adventures of Bobby Ray) which I liked, but his mixtapes has always been, for me, his best work. This is no different, and sampling an older, apparently unreleased, Eminem song (at least one I personally hadn't heard before) was genius. Bobby Ray and Em also hooked up for "Airplanes Pt.2" which is the better of the two airplane songs so you know they have chemistry. Amazing beat, great rapping by B.o.B. and Eminem sounds like Relapse Eminem. (I liked Relapse, sue me.) One of them tracks to just blast.

Ok so I just got back from a week long trip up to Missouri with my mom to see my Aunt and Grandma cause my grandma wasn't doing to well. Look more pop hits after riving around all day. As big a hip-hop and rap fan that I am, Imma sucker for pop songs and radio hits. Now Taylor Swift is just delightful (a cute as hell to boot), and though "You Belong With Me" was played to death, it was nice to heard it after a long while. Also Mike Posner, who's album admittedly sucked ass, had me hooked with "Cooler Then Me" it was another refreshing relisten for me.

You've probably not heard of Dessa unless you specifically look for female rappers, but she is definitely been one of my favorites the past the two years now. (Jean Grae, Nicki Minaj, Lauryn Hill being my personal top three.) And this track from A Badly Broken Code, is one of her best tracks. Lyrics are great, singing is nice, rapping is on point, and the beat behind it is insane. Love this track.

The Muppets [A Fat Jesus Movie Review]

Oh man have I been waiting for this all year. Not only did I watch The Muppets and Muppet Babies growing up and Jason Segel has been one of my favorite actors over the last 5 years. Not only that but he's a huge Muppet fan, and has been working on this for almost 5 years and I was hoping it'd pay off. It did. The Muppets, follows the story of Walter (a puppet) and his brother Gary and his girlfriend Mary. Growing up Walter became the worlds biggest Muppet fan. Now on a vacation Gary and Mary take to LA to celebrate their 10th anniversary Walter finally has a chance to go to Muppet Theater and an incredible mission and adventure unfolds. From the opening number "Life's A Happy Song", to Amy Adams being so damn adorable throughout, to the incredible humor and puns, to just seeing The Muppets back in a movie venue, it was a wonder to behold. The story Segel came up with has been done before, but I'll be damned if I wasn't into it hook, line and sinker. The acting by Segel, Adams, Walter, The Muppet crew and the amazing amount of cameos (John Krasinski, Neil Patrick Harris, Jack Black, Donald Glover, Dave Grohl, Emily Blunt, Ken Jeong etc) are wonderful. Never felt like the movie was long or dragging. The Muppet humor was amazing, the plays on words, puns, even just The 80s Robot, has me laughing in the theater. Finally the song numbers were awesome as well. "Life's A Happy Song", "Me Party", "Man or Muppet", and "Pictures on My Head" as well as Chris Cooper rapping were great. So many great moments it'd be impossible for me to name them all. All in all, I loved this movie. Just all around a great watch. Story, acting, humor, music, all perfect. Must see in my book.

Surprise, surprise, yet ANOTHER song off Childish Gambino's album Camp. This is actually the closer of the album, "That Power", and I've been listening to it more for the story Donald recites at the than the verses it's self though those are pretty great in their own right. The beat in the song and outro is good as well and that doesn't hurt this song in the least either.

And regrettably I end up using the word “destiny.” I don’t remember in what context. Doesn’t really matter. Before long I’m out of stuff to say and you smile and say, “okay.” I don’t know exactly what you mean by it, but it seems vaguely positive and I would leave in order not to spoil the moment, but there’s nowhere to go because we’re are on a bus. So I pretend like I’m asleep and before long, I really am.

I wake up, the bus isn’t moving anymore. The domed lights that line the center aisle are all on. I turn and you’re not there. Then again a lot of kids aren’t in their seats anymore. We’re parked at the pick-up point, which is in the parking lot of a Methodist church. The bus is half empty. You might be in your dad’s car by now, your bags and things piled high in the trunk. The girls in the back of the bus are shrieking and laughing and taking their sweet time disembarking as I swing my legs out into the aisle to get up off the bus, just as one of them reaches my row. It used to be our row, on our way off. It’s Michelle, a girl who got suspended from third grade for a week after throwing rocks at my head. Adolescence is doing her a ton of favors body-wise. She stops and looks down at me. And her head is blasted from behind by the dome light, so I can’t really see her face, but I can see her smile. And she says one word: “destiny.” Then her and the girls clogging the aisles behind her all laugh and then she turns and leads them off the bus. I didn’t know you were friends with them.

I find my dad in the parking lot. He drives me back to our house and camp is over. So is summer, even though there’s two weeks until school starts. This isn’t a story about how girls are evil or how love is bad, this is a story about how I learned something and I’m not saying this thing is true or not, I’m just saying it’s what I learned. I told you something. It was just for you and you told everybody. So I learned cut out the middle man, make it all for everybody, always. Everybody can’t turn around and tell everybody, everybody already knows, I told them. But this means there isn’t a place in my life for you or someone like you. Is it sad? Sure. But it’s a sadness I chose. I wish I could say this was a story about how I got on the bus a boy and got off a man more cynical, hardened, and mature and shit. But that’s not true. The truth is I got on the bus a boy. And I never got off the bus. I still haven’t."

As I'm typing this in the good ole Windows notepad while the internet is being a piece of shit at school, I occurs to me why I picked this Childish Gambino song as my song of the day. Ever since my dad passed away I'm feeling as if I've fallen into depression. Sleeping too much, loneliness, sadness, terrible thoughts, etc. I've built a cocoon around casting, football talk on Sundays/Mondays (and now Thursday's) and playing Minecraft and the like with everyone. While these times are helping me coupe, there's few genuine moments of joy and happiness in my life anymore. So on my way to school and in first period I listened to Childish Gambino's first official album release, Camp. With me being a pretty big Donald Glover fan, of course I loved it. On the way home I stopped at Target to grab the physical copy of the album ($8, not too shabby). But after the first three listens yesterday there were two songs (so far) that got stuck in my head. These are those two songs. On the album they're starting off the meat of the album itself. The beats are nice (especially the background to "Letter Home" which I already adore), the lyrics are real, and the rapping is on point. Not much more you can ask for me music-wise. *Nods head to the beats*

30 Minutes or Less [A Fat Jesus Movie Review]

Ahhh comedies. Over the past 6 years they've consumed my life. From juggernaut ones from Apatow like Knocked Up, to lesser known ones like The Foot Fist Way, to cult classics like Clerks and The Big Lewboski. I'm a comedy connoisseur you could say. So after lasts month's array of horror movies, from now on when you see a movie review on here it's more than likely gonna be a comedy. This is no different. 30 Minutes or Less follows the story of Nick and Chet. Nick is a slacker pizza delivery man, and Chet is his best friend who is recently getting promoted in his teaching profession. Meanwhile two guys, Dwayne and Travis, one of which's dad struck it big with the lottery, are planning on hiring a hit-man to kill him to get the rest of the money. They plot a plan to kidnap someone, strap a bomb to their chest, and make them rob a bank. The poor soul turns out to be Nick and he's forced to ask his best friend Chet to help him rob the bank, lest he blow up. This, for me, has two of the funniest actors of the last three years in Aziz Ansari and Danny McBride. Jesse Eisenberg is very underrated as a comedic actor and while I haven't given Swardson too much of a chance he was solid in this. Especially in the scenes where he's given an extended back and forth with McBride. There is lulls in this movie and some unfunny parts, but as a whole you'll be laughing a lot (at least I did, but I'm pretty easy to please comedy-wise). Aziz and Eisenberg (like Swardson/McBride) work very well off of each other. There's social and current age humor, the cruder low brow parts are done well, there's even psychical humor (quite a bit actually). Wasn't looking for Oscar caliber acting in this film, just jokes, one liners, and good comedy. For the most part, I found it. Never felt long, I was laughing a lot, and made me feel quite good and upbeat afterward. Really all I can ask for in a film.

I already know what's going to be playing all morning for me. It's a great upbeat track, a bonus one no less that's getting radio play, from J. Cole's Cole World: The Sideline Story called "Work Out." He samples Kanye West's "New Workout Plan" beat, which I love, his rapping is on point, and I love the chorus and ending of this song. Not to mention it's upbeat and catchy.

I'm getting into these song of the day posts, but I'm still not sure it'll be an everyday thing. But for now since I'm not in the mood for really listening to too many new albums/music over a weeks period of time I like these. After yet another awful day where I found out my grandma isn't doing well and inadvertently (maybe at this point it's some flaw in me though) being a major dick to people only trying to help I turned to what may be Kid Cudi's best track. "Pursuit of Happiness" is a hopeful song. No matter what happens in life you need to chase happiness and even if you stumble keep trying to get there. Aside from the meanings and stuff, this is just a good song. The chill beat, Cudi's nice rapping, a feature from Ratatat, and MGMT providing chords. Just amazing.

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a Bruno Mars fan. His music is pretty simple pop/RnB (even with all the layers going on), his lines are (at times) far too lovey dovey, but man can he sing. Had this been a day where I wasn't working on stuff "The Lazy Song" would've been on repeat, but for some reason this song, "Talking to the Moon", took over. There's so much hope and yet so much sadness in the lyrics. Almost a contradiction of emotion if you will. Also I've always liked the serene and peaceful tones in this song. Just one of those days where in the back of your mind you're missing so many people and hope they can somehow sense you're hurting. Happy 11/11/11 everyone.

Aside from the verses in yet another Kid Cudi song I've been running these two song all day. No real emotional connection or anything. These are just damn good songs. It's no lie that I'm a Kid Cudi fan, and if you don't know I'm also a big Nicki Minaj fan. With the exception of Jean Grae, I believe she's the best female rapper going right now (and that has happened in the last half a decade to be honest). Also (big surprise) Kanye West is featured on both of these songs. He always complements Cudi well when they hook-up on a song (and they do it often) and Nicki let's him go FUCKING OFF when she featured him on Pink Friday.
