Halloween Movie Month [Final Destination]

Ahh yes, the Final Destination series. Now after the second movie it trails off for me and I don't even think I've seen the latest one, or two, or however many there are now. The premise of the first movie, and mostly with all of them, is that people escape from a sure death situation they're not supposed to. While a class is about to fly to France on a class-trip. Alex Browning has a premonition before take-off that the plane was going to explode and in the process of getting kicked off the plane 7 other people must miss the flight too. Afterward Death comes to reap what's his and it's a mad dash to try and stay alive for the 8 people, to try and cheat death. Once again, this is one of those movies where I like the premise a lot, and it even has some big names to headline (Ala the lovely Ali Larter and the hit and miss Sean William Scott). Where I have the problem with this is the deaths, while they're supposed to be over the top, when these people die it's like "You're stupid just do [insert thing] you'll be fine." Sure the deaths look cool and that's all you really wanna see in movies like this, but it's a bit..tainted in my eyes. The plot (though above average), acting, music and writing are all standard. Really none of these movies I'm reviewing are going to have stand-out performances (save for Psycho and The Shining). All in all, this is before there were a handful of FD movies and it's a solid attempt and the deaths and plot are pretty original. Try it, if you're like me it'll be nice little hour and a half.
