Halloween Movie Month [A Nightmare on Elm Street]

Look another Wes Craven flick, I think we're up to four now (The Last House on the Left, Scream, and Scream 4 are the other three). Now I love Wes Craven horror cause they invoke a crimey thriller aspect. It's not just, madman, bad life, kill kill.  Nightmare follows the story of Tina, who one night has a dream. A nightmare if you will. That she is being chased by a madman with razors on his hands and just as she is about to be killed she wakes up. Noticing razor cut on her nightgown like in the dream, she flips out. The next night she stays with two friends, Nancy and her boyfriend Glen, to calm her nerves. When she falls asleep again, Freddy returns, will she make it out alive twice and what will happen to Nancy and Glen when Freddy comes to play? I love the plot behind this. Usually in dreams, you're in a safe haven, you can die, but you won't really. But with Freddy he can gut you in your dreams and you're screwed for real. This is a mid-80s horror, so like before I'm not going to focus on the acting. The music, especially in the dreams and during the kills are quite nice to me. Speaking of the kills, I love 'em. When you incorporate dreams bleeding over into reality, like Craven did, there were so many "new" ways to kill someone. All in all it's another horror classic, staple, must-see, whatever you wanna call it. Just don't fall asleep while you're watching it.
